Description
If you look at the prices of Raileurope, you wonder: how come the railway travel is so expensive in Europe? Even for a single country like Germany alone it does not look like a very good bargain: four railway-days within 30 days for $289? This is very limited experience for Germany. To see anything reasonable you will need at least 7 days in Germany alone. That would mean currently $389 in the second class - again, only for Germany. And how about multiple countries? Here we have a much worse situation, the price begins at $504 - for a mere five(!) days, a very limited timeframe. Summarizing the problem: the railpass offers are complicated to understand, have either very limited number of days allowed for travel or are very expensive. In most cases the tourists opt for one of the least expensive railpass, receive very limited number of days and try to squeeze as much as possible into shortest period of time - essentially ruining the vacation. Once in Europe you will discover, every local is on vacation, oftern without much hurry. How can they afford? The answer: there are local discounts, available for everyone - but with information published in some obscure language and not offered on the Internet! These are the best deals and I am offering here one of such tickets. Here is a picture of a ticket two of us recently used travelling all across Hungary, Austria, Germany - up to the north in Cuxhaven - and back. We did not use ICE trains, so the price is somewhat less. For tourists I suggest the more expensive variant which allows ICE useage. It's what I offer. What you will get with such ticket?1) Unlimited number of "railway-days" in three countries: Hungary, Austria, Germany within 30 day period (you tell, when it should start!). That means, not 4, 5, or 7 days - it's 30 days!2) Any train can be used, no train-binding, pre-booking is necessary. Using certain services - like with all railpasses - needs to be paid extra. These are usually the few obligatory seat/bed reservations3) Unlike with the railpass you are bound to a certain route. You tell the route. That means, you will need a certain planing BEFORE purchasing the ticket. My suggested itinerary for ca. 30 days would be:Budapest-Vienna-Salzburg-Innsbruck-Bregenz-Munich-Nuremberg-Bamberg-Dresden-Berlin-Rostock "there" andRostock-Bremen-Cologne-Koblenz-Trier-Mainz-Offenburg-Singen-Bregenz-Villach-Klagenfurt-Vienna-Budapest "back"Other itineraries are of course possible - it's up to you. The price is independent of the distance you travel. As a reference, please look at the detailed railway maps of involved countries: Germany Hungary Austria The price is excellent even for a single traveler, but for a group up to five people it is difficult to beat. Here are the samples how these tickets are calculated:Single person: $399Two people: $598Three people: $798Four people: $998Five people: $1198Children of 14 year or younger age will travel with their parents or granparents for free. These prices include all three countries (Hungary, Austria, Germany) for 30 days and the surcharge for using ICE bullet trains at will. The tickets will be sent free of charge worldwide by registered airmail from Europe. I accept cash (any major convertible currency) or PayPal.
